Hi Friends!! Guess what?! It is Thursday and we are coming to you with Alexis and Josh’s amazing engagement session at the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh! The NC Museum of Art was the perfect backdrop for this major league couple! Fields of gold, romantic pathways and lots of snuggles and kisses made for a super fun day! Y’all actually may recognize Josh because he’s a pitcher for the LA Dodgers! Alexis and Josh are living their best life out in Arizona for spring training and we can’t wait to watch Josh on the field this year!!
We asked Alexis to share their story…
We met at the University of Virginia! It was the first weekend of school in the Fall of 2013, and at the time I was a freshman who played on the Women’s Soccer team, while he was a sophomore who played for the Baseball team. A bunch of athletes was getting together on Friday night to kick off the start of the year, so my roommate and I decided to go out and meet the other teams.
Turns out, the party was at my Fiancés apartment, where he lived with 3 other baseball teammates. He was the first person to greet us as we stepped inside his apartment. From that moment on, we instantly hit it off. It’s so crazy to think that he was the first person I met on my first night out at UVA!!
We were on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico at the end of October to celebrate his baseball season! We checked in at The Cape, a Thompson Hotel. A cute, boutique hotel that overlooks the Arch. The weather was absolutely incredible and we only had plans to relax and drink margs by the pool On Friday morning, he told me to be dressed and ready by 4 PM because he had a surprise in store.
We were picked up by a driver at promptly at 4 pm and got dropped off at the Marina. As we stepped outside the car, I found out that he rented a private yacht for the night to take us on a sunset cruise. The next 4 hours we spent cruising around the coast while being served dinner and drinks. As the sun began to set, the driver turned the yacht for us to watch the sunset on the horizon.
Suddenly, our favorite song began to play in the background and before I knew it, Josh was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Of course, I said yes!!! Champagne was served to celebrate our engagement. It was by far the best and happiest moment of my life!
Ekk, y’all are just the cutest!! We can not wait for your wedding at the Duke Mansion in Charlotte NC next January!! 10 months and counting!! We love you guys!
