It’s Thursday again! You know what that means! YES- We are thrilled to share Catie + Matt’s gorgeous wedding with you!! From a beautiful, intimate ceremony at Sacred Heart Cathedral to the elegant reception at The Mayton Inn – this wedding is full of gorgeousness! I love, love, love my Bow Tie Couples!
Matt and Catie met when they were both freshmen at NC State. They lived in the same dorm and were part of the same church group. Although they dated for the past 6 years, they have been close friends for the past 9 years! You can tell the way they look at each other just how much they love each other! Matt says he loves how Catie, “makes me happy with her smile and her positive attitude when we experience new and fun adventures.” She loves how he, ” keeps me grounded – his lighthearted sense of humor and perspective of taking life one step at a time is what keeps me sane.” They are so sweet! <3
Matt proposed to Catie after a Mountain weekend with apple picking, hiking, and a sunset proposal on the Viaduct of the Blue Ridge Mountains. So romantic! Great job Matt!

Catie and Matt selected Sacred Heart Cathedral for their wedding because it held a special place in their hearts. This was the church that they went to after college. Sacred Heart Cathedral is a quaint catholic church in downtown Raleigh. They new it’s intimate space would make the ceremony feel close-knit and also be a beautiful church to be photographed in. They were right! It was a beautiful ceremony!
Married!!! 
The beauty and classy ambiance of The Mayton Inn attracted the pair and made it the perfect choice for their wedding reception . It’s unexpected, yet elegant decor created a gorgeous stage for their reception. They particularly loved the entrance door, the staircase in the lobby, the main hallway, and the library – we agree, we love those spaces too. As you can see in our gallery of photos we definitely took full advantage of it all! They also liked the quaint spirit of downtown Cary and were excited to share the small town feel that downtown Cary provided their guests.
