Highgrove Estate Wedding Fuquay-Varina, NC Victoria + Nick

It’s Thursday and boy do I have an AMAZING wedding to share with you!! Bill and I were thrilled to be back at The Highgrove Estate last weekend for Victoria and Nick’s beautiful black- tie wedding! Victoria and Nick are the SWEETEST people and they had the most magnificent modern, elegant, FUN wedding day last weekend! From beautiful florals to amazing custom made ACRYLIC invitations by the bride, this wedding had it all! I love black and white with all the pops of COLOR! Eight bridesmaids and twelve groomsmen brought so much love and energy to their special day! Can anyone tell it was 97 degrees ALL DAY long?! Whew! It was a hot one but everyone was such troopers! Victoria and Nick, we absolutely love you guys!!

We asked Victoria to tell us a little bit about their wedding. Here is what she shared!

How would you describe the overall vibe or theme of your wedding?

Our wedding party is all in black! We wanted to channel a modern, black-tie event. All of our attire is black (except me, of course), and our accent colors are really just found in the florals, bright white and textured table linens, some pastels in the roses and cake.

Tell us about your dress.

I fell in love with Hayley Paige when I was working in bridal beauty in New York. We became close with a local bridal boutique named Sayville Bridal. I knew I wanted a Hayley Paige dress, so I went to one of the only boutiques in Raleigh that carries her! I tried on over 15 dresses of Hayley’s, and I loved every single one. Therefore, I literally thought to myself, “There is no way I can decide.” Then, I tried on a dress that was not designed by HP, and I hated every second of it.

After trying on every glitz and glam dress there was, I decided to ask my attendant about this simpler, a more classy style I had seen Hayley Paige feature the spring collection before. The Andi Gown – she was named. They had it! When I put it on, I actually said “Wow. I love this. Can I take a picture?” So I took out my phone and took a mirror selfie in the dressing room. I couldn’t stop dreaming about her, and she was the one I needed! I called my friend, Gina, with Sayville Bridal in New York. She ordered the Andi gown for me, and I fall in love with her every day!

Tell us about the Groom’s outfit.

We wanted a classic, black-tie affair. I knew Nick would pick out an amazing look. He’s the clothes guy! His original idea was a pin-dot bow tie, and I guess that would have been more unique. But, I love the classic black, and he’s killing it.

Do you plan on seeing each other before the wedding?

If you asked me this 6 months ago, I would have said, “Oh, HECK no.” After sitting with Ashley, actually, I decided that it wasn’t such a bad idea after all. Nick is my best friend in the entire world. He’s the one I want to see every second of every day, and I know that I wanted him to be the absolute first person to see me. The nature of a wedding day is hectic. We decided that it would be one of our only moments alone on the biggest day of our lives, and I wanted to make sure we had our time before the ceremony to be alone for even a few minutes – with Ashley there, too, of course. 🙂

We know you are super excited about getting married! What other special moments are you looking forward to?

I’m so looking forward to marrying Nick, and I’m also looking forward to our photos and video really capture how much we love each other. I think our first look will be really intimate and romantic.

Will you be going on a honeymoon?

We are going to Cocobay Resort in Antigua! I researched honeymoons for weeks. Months even! I wanted it to be perfect. After scrolling honeymoon articles late, late at night, I came across Cocobay as an ad on Google. I thought this place was too beautiful to be true. After literally direct messaging lots of people on Instagram who I saw had gone to the resort, I realized, it was true!
