Fueled by equal parts ambition and craft cocktails, we spend our days capturing the kinds of images that make you stop, smile and ask time to please slow down. We believe in images that are itching to be printed, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.
Y’alll YAYYYY!! It’s Thursday again and you know what that means! We are absolutely thrilled to share with you the beautiful wedding of Caitlin and Nick at The Merrimon-Wynne House this Sunday! These two adventurous sports fanatics tied the knot on the lawn and partied the night away with family and friends in the beautiful MW Carriage House. Her gorgeous ladies were dressed in burgundy dresses and them men looked dashing in their charcoal grey suits. From start to finish it was a magical night even while getting married in the pouring rain! Having the ceremony outside was still the best call! Just look how beautiful!!
We asked Caitlin a few questions, read along and enjoy!!
We met founding a sports statistics club together at NC State. I was the president and he was the vice president, and after meetings, I would give him a 5-minute ride from my car to his car and we would talk about the meeting and classes and things. I thought he was dorky but cute and the next semester we sat next to each other in a few classes. He used to keep me up doing homework and eventually worked up the courage to ask me out and the rest is history.
He set up a pretend double date with two of our good friends at a restaurant near the NC State belltower and parked so that we would have to walk by it. Then, he took me on the steps of the belltower and proposed and he had the two friends taking pictures and many more of our friends waiting at the restaurant!
Watch/play sports, visit our families and play board games with our friends.
Nick and I plan on taking communion together by ourselves immediately following the ceremony. We wanted a private spot to take it and reflect. Nick and I met and fell in love at NC State while starting a sports analytics club, so in that spirit, the bridal party entrance will be like an NBA lineup announcing the party as “all the way from NC State, bridesmaid Jessica Miller”. We just want to throw a HUGE blast of a party before we officially move to LA! We do have choreographed the first dance and we’ll try to make sure all the big dips are facing you! We’re also doing a first touch and prayer with the minister before the ceremony.
I would say the vibe is between traditional and modern. We tried to include a little of both to complement our spirits. The feel is very garden-esque. The tables will have eucalyptus table runners with white roses and berries with low candles. The girls are in a brighter red burgundy full-length dress.
Honestly just seeing each other! We moved all our stuff out to LA (including Nick!) the first week of June, so it’s been a while since we’ve been together! We’re looking forward to our private dance at the end to just take in the whole event. We’d love to sneak a peek of the reception before everyone enters just to see everything and take it in!
Tell us about your dress!
I got my dress the day after Thanksgiving from a boutique in Winston-Salem called Bellisima. When we got there, my maid & matron of honor immediately started picking out dresses while I filled out paperwork and they ended up picking dresses all from the same designer (Robert Bullock). I ended up wearing TWO dresses at the same time to pick the top of one and the bottom of the other in a third dress’s color! It’s got buttons down the back, and A-line skirt, and a v-cut front. Incredibly simplistic and simple just as I imagine. My late grandmother wasn’t a fan of strapless so I chose a dress with straps for her.
No! (Bride speaking) I’ve always wanted that first look moment to happen while I’m walking down the aisle. It’s something I’ve always thought was beautiful to witness the groom’s face just light up.
