Welcome to our list of the top 15 best Wedding Venues in Raleigh, NC and surrounding areas! While we’ve shot at venues all over the East Coast one thing  we’ve found remains the same – having a venue where you can do EVERYTHING, from getting ready, to ceremony to the last dance it makes the logistics of your day so much easier! Better for you, your guests and your sanity. All of the venues below are all-in-one which allows for so much less stress and logistical planning! For couples wanting to get married in a Church these are all still great options as you can do pre-ceremony preparations prior and then return for the celebration. We have photographed over 100 weddings in Raleigh NC, and here are some of our favorite places in no particular order!

1. Merrimon-Wynne House

Merrimon Wynne is one of our favorite venues situated right in the middle of downtown Raleigh! Merrimon-Wynne has a beautiful lawn for ceremonies an elegant carriage house for receptions. The whole house is exquisite with natural light pouring in from all angels, adorned with the luxury and charm for the perfect wedding day!

 

2. TheBarn of Chapel Hill

The Barn of Chapel Hill is a fantastic venue with a flower farm attached – Will Flora Flowers! The barn makes a perfect backdrop for the ceremony location, or you can use the courtyard as a blank slate! The barn itself has plenty of space to host a huge reception party afterwards and the bridal suite is just adorable! We love this venue and all it has to offer!

 

3. Highgrove Estate

Highgrove Estate is a classic Southern estate on seven acres overlooking Lake Laurel.  Highgrove has a Southern warmth and charm, with capacity for intimate groups as small as 35 guests to large celebrations of up to 200 guests. Highgrove Estate provides every detail under one roof. They are the most “all inclusive” venue we know of – rentals, catering, bar, cake – it’s all included with your package! The on-site kitchen, staff, and coordinators are all there to serve and help create the most amazing wedding day experience possible.

 

4. The Umstead

The Umstead is one of the most luxurious hotels in the area and the grounds behind the hotel are perfect for outdoor wedding ceremonies and portraits! You can expect plenty of luxurious style for all the getting ready images in one of their gorgeous hotel rooms. They also have huge ballrooms for the biggest of parties! If you know anything about The Umstead you know the service is top notch. It is an experience in itself just walking inside!

 

5. The Sutherland

The Sutherland was originally an 18th century 6 acre estate and is one of the oldest buildings in Wake County. It is situated in a beautiful garden setting with oaks, magnolias, and pines all around. The picturesque garden is the perfect location for outdoor ceremonies, and features a newly designed pavilion space to host large weddings up to 350 guests. The bridal suite upstairs has loads of natural light while the groom’s get their own cabin tucked in the woods!

 

6. The Bradford

The Bradford is nestled on 12 acres in the quaint town of New Hill, NC. The Bradford was intentionally designed to embrace the countryside of Europe with it’s architecture. The venue just underwent a massive project to add a luxurious reception space that we are very excited about! The outdoor courtyard is perfect for an outdoor reception and can be tented in warmer/cooler months. The entire home is just so cute and quant!

 

7. The Oaks at Salem

The Oaks at Salem is an 11 acre all in one wedding venue. Which includes a naturally lit bridal suite and a tented reception space with an amazing pond backdrop. The ceremony space has an elegant brick wall backdrop which looks amazing year round. They even feature a wedding vendor marketplace on the property which is a stand alone building where you can go and view a variety of wedding vendors’ work to help you plan your perfect wedding.

 

8. The Historic Wakefield Barn

The Historic Wakefield Barn was originally built in the 1930’s and has been restored to host the gorgeous weddings. Not only can you have your ceremony inside with the grand space the barn offers, there are two outdoor ceremony locations available as well whether it be on the lawn in front of a huge weeping elm or on the patio facing a custom stone fireplace. They have a beautiful, spacious bridal suite as well!

 

9. The Stockroom + The Glass Box

The Stockroom and Glassbox are two separate spaces within the same building located right on Fayetteville street in downtown Raleigh. You can book both at the same time or choose one or the other. The Stockroom has a restored rustic warehouse feel and the Glass Box is above it with modern decor and great views of downtown for more intimate ceremonies and receptions. The Stockroom for the ceremony and reception combined with The Glass Box for pre-ceremony bridal preparations are an amazing combo!

11 Mim’s House

Best Wedding Venues in Holly Springs

Mims House is located in downtown Holly Springs and is a 19th century mansion that can host both indoor and outdoor ceremonies. Situated on over an acre of land, this southern gem can accommodate a variety of your ideas with a large porte cochere that once accommodated horse and carriages – it could even host your dance floor! Inside the home the rooms are huge with loads of  natural light and amazing decor! The grooms suite is one of our favorites in all of NC!

 

12. The Cotton Room

The Cotton Room is a fantastic rustic restored warehouse in Durham! The venue just built a brand new bridal suite that is modern and clean with plenty of photo opportunities for you when getting ready. The large ceremony and reception space can accommodate a variety of ideas and features a romantic fireplace backdrop for a lot of the ceremonies we have photographed there. And the dance floor space…its gigantic!

 

13. Bay 7 

Best Wedding Raleigh

Bay 7 is another wonderful Wedding Venue in Durham. It has a restored rustic warehouse feel for the ceremony and reception and is located within the American Tobacco Campus which gives a set up for stunning outdoor portraits of you and your groom and bridal party. There is a ton of space available to accommodate large guest lists and the dance floor is never short for space either! The modern stainless steel brick syled backdrop for the ceremony adds a nice touch! Post ceremony, guests go upstairs for cocktail hour while the staff flips the lower space for the reception!

14. The Pavilion at Carriage Farm

The Pavilion at Carriage Farm is a great option for brides to be who love a lot of space in the bridal suite and value the ceremony and reception to be all in one space. The barn was built just a couple years ago and it’s obvious with how fresh the space is with the grand chandeliers in front of the fireplace and ceiling adding a really classy touch! We love the 360 windows with ALL the natural light our hearts could dream of! They have options for indoor and outdoor ceremonies which makes this venue great no matter the time of year.

15. Melrose Knitting Mill

Melrose Knitting Mill is just that! A restored Mill in the heart of downtown Raleigh originally built in 1900. The bottom floor is a fantastic foodie destination called Mulino Italian Kitchen & Bar. The Knitting Mill sits perched above the restaurant making a really unique wedding destination. This space can host up to 180 guests and you can even host your cocktail party in the courtyard below the venue within Mulino’s. Oh, and the best part? Mulino caters all weddings at the Knitting Mill.
