“DON’T BE PUSHED BY YOUR PROBLEMS, BE LEAD BY YOUR DREAMS“
| MY PHILOSOPHY |
There comes a time in your photography journey where you want to take your work to the next level but you aren’t sure how to get there. Whether you are looking to grow your business, start your business, improve your photography skills or enhance your creativity and vision, paying for a mentoring session with an experienced photographer might be just what you need! This mentoring program was created after hearing from dozens of photographers and aspiring photographers dealing with the same issues in their new businesses that I experienced when I started my business. So many questions, so little answers. These sessions are available for absolutely anything – whether you need help learning your DSLR, or other camera related skills, interacting with clients, business workflow, photo editing, SEO marketing or more. We will dive into your specific business needs during our time together and no questions are off limits. All sessions are custom tailored to your individual needs. Mentoring will be provided in my office in Apex, North Carolina.
| WHAT’S INCLUDED |
Mentoring sessions will be 4 hours long and include a break for lunch. The first half of the day will be spent in my home studio discussing ways to improve YOUR business and goals. You can ask me anything you want and I will be happy to share what is working for me! A quick lunch will be provided and then we will be back to work. We will also do hands on, behind the camera teaching and I will use this time to take head shots that you can use on your website and social media.

Am I an “Experienced” photographer?
I use the word “Experienced” to differentiate between a professional photographer and a beginner photographer. I believe this session is a good fit if you already have a basic understanding of posing, lighting, aperture, ISO and are looking to improve your skills and enhance your business. We will talk about what your individual goals are and create a customized plan to achieve them!
Do you offer mentoring for beginner photographers?
I offer small group workshops for beginner photographers. My next workshop will be early 2018! Be sure to subscribe to our blog for e-mail updates on our beginner photography workshops!
When are One-on-One sessions available?
I offer two mentoring sessions a month. Mentoring sessions are offered during the week only. Send us an e-mail and we will be in touch with our current availability.
Will you review my pictures and give me constructive criticism?
Critique is one of the most powerful teaching/learning tools and I love to use it in mentoring! Photographers will often send me a link to their online portfolio ahead of our mentoring session so I can review their work and make notes. I also encourage you to bring along an iPad/laptop with some favorite shots and we can view and discuss them together.
Do I have to live a certain distance from you so that we’re not competitors?
No, all are welcome! I believe in collaboration and community! I found that this approach is key to success in this market, and I am more than happy to work with other photographers, near or far.
Can you recommend what gear, camera body / lens upgrades I should make?
Absolutely. I will share what lens and/or camera body upgrades would be best in your specific situation.
Can we discuss Lightroom editing and presets?
Absolutely! I will answer any of your editing questions and show you exactly how I edit my photos to achieve my “Bow Tie” style.
Can we discuss Album design?
Absolutely! I can take you through my album design workflow from client interaction to page spreads, edits, cover selection and printing.
Is there anything about your business you will not share?
No, I am happy to share any information about my business that could benefit your business!
