We are SO EXCITED to share with you, Jenny and David’s Duke Gardens Engagement Session! We photographed this gorgeous, jet setting couple at the beautiful Duke Gardens in Durham, NC last weekend and had so much fun! Jenny and David came in from Knoxville for their engagement session and we can’t wait to head to Nashville for their wedding this October!! However, I will say when we pulled into Duke Gardens it looked straight up like DISNEY WORLD with hundreds of people EVERYWHERE. I guess going on a Saturday evening, the first semi nice weather day we had all month wasn’t the best idea? We made it work though! Can you even tell we were completely surrounded by people?!?
We just love sharing our Bow Tie couples love stories!! I mean, who doesn’t love a love story?!
Jenny shared her beautiful love story with us! Hint: You are not going to want to miss this proposal!
How did you meet?
We met via Coffee Meets Bagel- a dating app that neither of us was so sure about but turns out it was the best decision ever. We talked for a couple of weeks as both of us were traveling- him to Italy and me to Las Vegas. Once we both were back in town, we met up for wine one evening followed by a sushi date a couple of days later and the rest is history.
How did he propose?
David had a rotation in Belgium that I planned to join him on and first, we were going to Paris. We had a wonderful first day touring Notre Dame and the Louvre. We started our second day taking the hop on hop off the bus all over Paris then concluded our day with an evening bike tour of Paris… however, this bike ride did not happen. I lost my balance on my bike and broke my ankle. We went to the ER in Paris where I was told I needed surgery and David ultimately had to splint my ankle. I decided to have surgery back home in Atlanta- cutting the trip short. Little did I know David had planned on proposing the next day in front of the Eiffel Tower.
Once we left the hospital and got back to our Airbnb, it was nearly 3 am. We were in disbelief and exhausted. David turned everything around when he dropped down to his knee at my bedside and proposed. I could not believe what was happening. We called our families and friends to tell them the amazing news. The next day we still went to the Eiffel tower, took a boat ride on the Seine River, and toured a few museums.
What are your favorite things to do together?
Traveling near or far, trying new restaurants, hiking and being outside, going to the gym together and going to movies!
