We were so EXCITED to kick off our 2019 wedding season with Amberly and Chris at The Merrimon-Wynne House in Downtown Raleigh, NC! It was a gorgeous wedding even though it was a bit on the rainy side! And by bit I mean it rained. all. day. long.
Amberly and Chris planned their wedding to be romantic, elegant, and – most importantly – FUN! Both, Amberly and Chris have a preference for very clean color palettes so everything was neutral with lots of whites, grays, and dusty blues. The groomsmen and bridesman were in classic black tuxedos and the bridesmaids were in a beautiful palette of blues.
We asked Amberly to tell us about her dress! She told us she bought my dress and veil from Coral Gables Bridal, a boutique back in her hometown of Miami, FL. Both were designed by Pronovias which only felt fitting since she will be married in a dress made in Spain. Amberly is incredibly proud of her Cuban and Spanish background so it was really important to find as many ways as possible to honor that throughout the big day.
Amberly and Chris opted for a first touch instead of the first look. She told us, “They thought a lot about it, but there’s just something so special about our eyes meeting for the first time as we’re moments away from being husband and wife. We’re really looking forward to having the first touch be an opportunity to check in with one another and have a special moment between just the two of us before we see each other at the church.”
When we asked her what moment she was most excited to experience, she told us, she was so excited for the moment those church doors open and they see each other for the first time. They were also so ready to party the night away with their family and friends – a group that likes to have a good time so it was a fun reception. They sure did have FUN! It was an epic party!
They selected the song, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” by Joseph Vincent for their first dance. She told us that, while going on long car rides, there’s always a point where this song comes up on their playlist. When it does and the chorus hits, Chris always belts it out exchanging the word “baby” for “Amby” – her nickname. It’s always brought a smile to her face and reminds them of a lot of fun and happy times together.
They will be honeymooning in Antiqua where they have assured us they will be laying on the beach for a full week! This will be their first big trip together so they are so excited to get some sun, enjoy the Caribbean blue water, and have some quality time.
