Guess what time it is! You guessed it! It’s time for another amazing Wedding Venue blog! Today we are off to The Rickhouse, located in the Central Park district of downtown Durham! Once RJ Reynold’s Prizery, it features beautifully restored and reclaimed wood and exposed brick throughout. From a gorgeous inside space that comfortably seats 200 to a large covered concrete deck overlooking the famed Durham Athletic Park, the home of the Durham Bulls, this venue has it ALL!!
How did The Rickhouse get started?
They thought this space could serve as additional revenue while their products aged. As for the name, a Rickhouse is simply the room or building where barrels go to age — it plays off the synergy of their adjacent [in house] distillery, Two Doors Distilling, Co.

What makes The Rickhouse unique?
The Rickhouse is a warehouse that has been completely revitalized! Everything old has been made new again! Light fixtures are structured on reclaimed wood that was once the floorboards in a remodeled portion of the building. Aged 4”x4” wood that many of the buildings in the area boast as both floorboards and ceilings. In a room set aside as a dressing room for event patrons, there is a large mirror framed with more original wood from the building!
What’s one interesting fact about The Rickhouse?
With a top notch location, ambiance and the ability to accommodate up to 200 people, the venue books up quickly. Head over to their website to setup a tour and plan your dream wedding!
