Fueled by equal parts ambition and craft cocktails, we spend our days capturing the kinds of images that make you stop, smile and ask time to please slow down. We believe in images that are itching to be printed, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.
Happy Tuesday Friends! We are coming to you tonight with the sweet engagement session of Ashley and Zack! Let me tell you these two were made for each other. With an abundance of faith, friends, and family, they have a beautiful life ahead of them! I am so excited to share their fun and loving UNC engagement session with you! Enjoy!
It was on May 17th, 2019!!! So I was planning on going over to Zach’s house on that Friday night, but little did I know he had been planning to surprise me that night and my family was also in on it. We had planned on going to chipotle for dinner and then he told me he was going to buy me Starbucks that night as well. When I got to his house his mom said that she actually had three more errands for us to run. So after we ate dinner and got gas and went to Starbucks for coffee, we went to Kirkland’s to do a return. Then we went to Target to get something for his mom, made one more stop, and headed back to his house. Then he said we needed to stop at the mailbox because they hadn’t gotten their mail in a while.
Apparently this whole time he had been texting with my family and his who was back at his house setting all the stuff up! I didn’t even notice.
We had gone into his neighborhood a different way than usual, I didn’t see that my parent’s car was parked on the side of their house. But then when we pulled up I was like “is that your house? What are all those lights back there? Have you guys always had those?” And he was like “ oh, yeah we have!” So I just thought it was part of the new things they had set up in their backyard for their pool. So I didn’t really think anything of it until we were walking up to the house and he said, “we’re actually gonna go in this way!”. I was like what’s going on but then in the midst of several strings of lights, I saw pineapple lights! And that’s when I knew it was about to happen because I am OBSESSED with pineapple things!
I was so surprised I didn’t see it coming all night!
He didn’t even seem nervous, and I later found out he really wasn’t! So then he took me under the pergola they had just built with lights under it and asked me to marry him!! And he had the song From The Ground Up by dan and shay playing in the background too, which is one of my favorite songs. I actually think we might use that as our first dance song! He also had them put tea lights in the pool and they were floating in some bowls which were really beautiful!! So then we walked around the corner to go into the house and he was like “Oh! Also, your family is here too!” And I was like awwwwww this is so sweet!! So they basically set it all up while we were gone. He had left them all these instructions and checklists and videos about how to set everything up, it was so detailed, just how I like things!!! And his GoPro was set up and his dad was flying a drone to get a video. It was really loud but I didn’t hear it the whole time cause I was so focused on what was happening!! I’ll always remember that day!
Ashley and Zach love to go to church together, go out to eat, go to the movies, and spend time with our friends and families.
They have the futures planned out! Zach is going to UNC dental school this year and he will graduate in 2023. Ashley is graduating from Meredith College in May of 2020. She works with kids with Autism doing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and she loves it. Zach also does web development as a side job and has been doing it for a long time now so he is really good at it. They love their church and our church family at Soul Church in Raleigh and have been going there together for about 2 and a half years now. Ashley is involved in the kid’s ministry at my church and is the team lead for our toddlers team, and Zach plays drums and guitar on our church’s worship team.
