The Oaks at Salem Wedding Photography | Emma + Tim
I may or may not still be in a Turkey coma from one of the best Thanksgiving breaks EVER! (SO much needed!) But we are back in the office today and have an AMAZING WEDDING to share with you! We are THRILLED to introduce you to the NEW MR. + MRS. STEGEMANN!!
Tim and Emma met in 2013 at Campbell University. They were both in the same economics class. It was hard for Emma not to take notice of Tim, because he constantly raised his hand in class and answered questions correctly and confidently. As another student trying to answer questions in class, she found it quite frustrating. They look back and laugh about her first impression of him. They saw each other several times at different events and get-togethers but once they started spending time together, Emma and Tim were inseparable. These two quickly fell in love and knew they would spend their lives together! <3<3
Emma love Tim’s confidence and brutal honesty. She told us if she was having a bad hair day, he will let hew know! haha She likes that because it makes his complements and words all the more meaningful.
Tim and I went for a walk on May 31st after dinner. We walked by a beautiful fountain. It was sentimental because we would go on walks at Campbell University almost every night and walk by the fountains on campus. On this particular night we stopped and he asked me if I had every made a wish and tossed a coin in a fountain. I said I had. Next, he got 2 coins out of his wallet, one for me, one for him. He tossed his coin and took a step back for me to toss my coin in the fountain. (Of course I secretively wished we would be married soon.) Afterwards, I turned around and he was on one knee with the ring in his hands. It was totally unexpected. He asked me to marry him and I replied YES! I was shaking and in such shock that I had the ring halfway on my ring finger, on the wrong hand! We started to walk back home but I was so surprised with what just happened that I had to stop and stand still for a few minutes before I could continue walking. I was so happy and we were so excited to share the news with our friends and family.”
Emma and Tim found The Oaks at Salem online and thought it looked absolutely beautiful. They loved the house, the pond, the ceremony site, etc. She knew it was the right place for them. It wasn’t too rustic or too modern. She loved the simplicity of everything. Their personalities were definitely captured by the details, colors, and selections they have made such as songs, food, etc. Their favors also represent her family’s legacy which is special to her. Emma’s grandfather invented the half-moon cookie and her mom made all their guests a half-moon cookie to take home with them!! Tim’s family is Italian so they also had some fun Italian songs played at the reception. Tim and Emma enjoy wine and celebrations and their guests had a wonderful time celebrating with them!
